Elodie Parthenay is a Canadian poet, journalist and writer.

A former magazine Editor-in-Chief, she studied poetry and creative writing at UCLA, where she was nominated for the Allegra Johnson Prize for Fiction for her work on an upcoming fantasy novel.

A hopeless romantic and die-hard optimist, she writes poetry about love, loss, sisterhood and self-love, as seen and experienced by a queer woman of colour.

In 2021, Elodie Parthenay released her first poetry collection, The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me, a story of heartbreak and comeback to oneself, which was praised for its depth and ability to mirror readers’ feelings. Her next poetry collection, Harvest, came out in 2023.

Her poems appeared in Vallum, Campfire Poets, and Woven with Brown Thread, a collection of poetry celebrating Black voices, edited by Upile Chisala.

Her writing has been featured in VÉRO, ELLE, Flare, Clin d’œil, LOULOU and Chatelaine.

She currently lives with her daughter and their fluffy rescue cat, Flerken, in Montreal, where she practices mindfulness meditation and writes about lifestyle, health, relationships and astrology for Women’s magazines.
